While all of these interesting and exotic animals are found in Costa Rica, one of the most popular animals you might see that Costa Rica is known for is sloths.
There are two types of sloths that can be found in Costa Rica, the two-toed sloth and the three-toed sloth with the three-toed sloth being more common to spot. The main differences between the two sloths are that one has two claws and the other has three, obviously, the two-toed sloth has larger eyes and is slightly larger than the three-toed sloth and the three-toed sloth has darker facial features which makes it look like its always smiling.

Three-toed Sloth
These two different types of sloths have different diets too, with the two-toed sloth having a more varied food diet including fruit, flowers, and leaves, while the three-toed sloth mostly just eats leaves.
Two-toed Sloth
Costa Rica is the perfect place for sloths to live in because it provides many tropical rainforests all over the country so that sloths can live in them, eat the leaves, and have protection from predators that might be around. Sloths only come down about once a week to use the bathroom, mate or look for more food, so it is mandatory that their habitat has a lot of trees to live in.
